I started reading this book not realizing that it was Dean Koontz as the book was originally published under the pseudonym Owen West. The book is a novelization of the movie by the same name. Koontz took a slasher movie that I did not really care for and turned it into a book that I could not put down. The Funhouse is a novelization by American author Dean Koontz, based on a Larry Block screenplay, which was made into the film The Funhouse, directed by Tobe Hooper. As the film production took longer than expected, the book was released before the film. Koontz originally published the novel under the pseudonym Owen West. OK, seriously, this is not what I expected from Dean Koontz. This was the time I tried one of his works after 60 years of reading over tens of thousands of books.
